Motiva / Shell's Newark, NJ terminal was destroyed by Super Storm Sandy.  They came to us with a specific list of needs for furnishing their new space.  Operators needed ample worksurface space for multiple computer monitors and plenty of easily accessible storage.  They also requested comfortable & versatile seating, as operators would be in these chairs all day, everyday.  Managers and supervisors needed complete offices.  They requested ample desktop space as they would also require multiple computer monitors nearby and at eye level.  The conference room required a table large enough to seat 10 people.  The locker room needed a standalone locker system and some seating.  Lastly, they needed a table and chairs for their breakroom.  So we went to work!

Hon's Initiate built-up workstations seemed to be the perfect fit in the operators' rooms.  This way, we could span the entire perimeter of the walls with worksurfaces and place any number of pedestal files strategically underneath.  We added a lateral file and storage cabinet on the one open wall for additional storage.  For operator seating, we used the Hon 7800 series 24-hour chairs.  Extra cushioning, ergonomic design & a complete array of adjustment options made these chairs the ideal choice here.

The managers requested a traditional executive style for the private offices and so we furnished them with Hon's Park Avenue Veneer series desking.  We added returns and credenzas, space permitting, to give them the extra desktop space for the computer monitors.  Hon's Nucleus Mid-Back chairs were used in these offices.  The Nucleus chairs have different color options for the mesh back and the Fog color they chose accented the offices beautifully.  The Nucleus chairs also feature a floating mesh seat wrapped in fabric, which provides added comfort.

Hon's Preside Series provided us with solutions for the conference and break rooms.  A 12' laminate boat shape table with a Hollow Laminate Panel base was utilized to seat 10 people comfortably in the conference room.  The 'boat' shape adds some extra perimeter space to the table top, giving each person a little extra room.  The Preside series also features a less formal table option which stands on an aluminum T-leg base.  We thought this would be a great choice for the breakroom.  We went with Hon's Ignition series seating for the conference room and breakroom.  They are similar to the Nucleus chairs, except they are only available with a black mesh back & a standard seat.  Their lower price point makes them the perfect chair for these areas which aren't being utilized as much.

We went to Tennsco for the locker room lockers, as they provide options for single, double and triple standalone locker sets.  Hon's Versant bench was a functional seating choice for the locker room and accented the center of the space well.
